EXERCISE EXERCISE EXERCISE

Effective immediately, local public health officials are requesting the cancellation of any large events planned for the following week.

Contagious communicable disease is easily spread.

In addition, those exhibiting symptoms of high fever, chills or exhaustion should refrain from visiting a hospital or health care center. Instead, six triage locations have been set up around the county – two in Fruita, three in Grand Junction and one in Palisade. If available, please wear a face mask.

Call Western Colorado 211 for the latest information.

For members of the media wishing to obtain interviews for your broadcasts with representatives of the Grand Junction Police Department and School District 51, regarding today’s reality based training: please stage on the west side of Sherwood Park, near the Communications Center mobile dispatch vehicle, at 9:45am.  You will have a brief opportunity to ask questions of employees with both agencies at 10:00am.  This will be the only opportunity for interviews regarding this drill.  Once the exercise begins, a new staging area, with better visual access, will be selected for the media.  We anticipate this move occurring at around 10:45am.  You are welcome to stay and wait.  If you choose to leave after the interviews, we will post the new staging area on the JIC blog (www.mesacountyjic.com).  Thank you for your participation.
