The following information is in reference to a SIMULATED incident taking place in Mesa County. This is only a drill. More information about this drill can be found at here.
Multiple emergency responders agencies are responding to a crash involving two semi truck on I70 near mile marker 22. One of the vehicles involved is a tanker truck. Hazardous Materials response teams are on scene.
I70 is closed in both directions at the Westgate exit on the west side of Grand Junction to the Clifton exit. I70-B is the detour route.
As a precaution an Emergency Notification has been sent out to residences in a 1.5 mile radius around the crash site. Those people are being told to shelter in place at this time.
All of Mesa County is on accident alert at this time. If you are involved in a crash that does not involve injuries, no one is intoxicated, please exchange registration, license, and contact information and report it within 48 hours to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
